Sweat Drips, Blue Lips

So, last week was my first week back since winter break. If you want to really know what happened during Christmas, you should either call me or read Cheese's blog. Anyways, so last week was the first week I was back in school. I think I had a cold from the babies I visited last Christmas or real bad allergies or something. My first day back was Wednesday and my anatomy groupies and I were dissecting Minnie (our cadaver) and then Gerald says, "Wow. You must not be feeling so good." And, I'm like, "Why?" He's like, "You're sweating profusely." And I touch my forehead and my neck and I was sweating like Ballzee would on a normal day. That's a lot if you don't know. I just remember being really, really HOT. (In more ways than one, of course) I kept telling myself no blue lips, no blue lips. So what'd I get? Sweaty. At least I didn't faint this time. This story has no point whatsoever.

But, before I forget, I'd like to make a shout out to The Duddy: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :) YAY.

Science is Golden

I took this physiology exam today and I went to the classroom all early and no one was there. So, I started freakin' out 'cause people are always there early. I was thinking: maybe the test was at 7:30 in the morning and I missed it 'cause I thought it was at 1:10 in the afternoon...maybe I'm at the wrong building. Ah! Maybe it was yesterday! What the hell is today anyways??! So, I started calling random people to ask them where's the exam gonna be and no one was picking up! And, I'm like, they must be taking the test NOW and I'm totally missing it! That is until waaay later I found out people were in this mandatory core class (that I'm not in obviously) and that's why they weren't picking up their phone. *sigh* Oh drama mia!

So, I took the physio test and came out of that classroom thinking it was brutal. Hekka BRUTAL and bitch slapped me too. That is until I checked my grade and TEEEEE-DEEEE (pronounce like a tah-dah, but a tee-dee) I so bitch slapped that exam! Hehe. Science is truly golden.

Eat Two Chocolate Bars & Call Me in the Morning

Somehow I became the school counselor. Heh. What I mean is that people stop by my room or call me and tell me about their problems and then, they ask me what I think. This happens everyday. Don't get me wrong, I love it when people visit me and call me and when they think I can listen to them or give them worthwhile advice..But, hrm really, how much more knowledgeable am I than them? Friends, thanks for thinking I can give you answers. If only you knew....

Pluck You Eyebrow

Whenever my eyebrows become an eyebrow I get them threaded down the street in pseudo-little-India. It's not the same as Ziba in South Coast Plaza in CA where there's a ton of people going and there's a long line. But, at least it's a dollar cheaper. Anyway, I had a point...everytime I go there I'm like the only non-Indian person there and I'm not even sure if the person who does my eyebrows (Shailu or something) speaks English. We have these one word conversations...thanks. Eyebrows. Please. Yeah. Good? Perfect. Bye!

The first time I went there I think they were surprised to see a non-Indian person there. They were like, You Indian? No. Mexican. No. Then, when I tell them I'm Filipino they go, Ah, Filipino! I smile and then they look at me with the how-do-you-know-about-us look. Oh well. Whateva. What's important is that they do a good job and I'd do anything to have attractive eyebrowS.

Bulls Balls

To the cousins in California: you guys would be so jealous to know that I went to the Bulls game against Orlando Magic last Tuesday :) Yay. I took pictures and video clips with my phone, ate the nachos, drank the drinks, and oh yeah, watched the game. That's it. I know nothing about basketball. I just wanted to post a blurb about it. Yay.

Turkey Skies!

I promised I'd post some pics from Thanksgiving. So, here ya go! I got Eli smiling! Gasp! I just noticed I have way too many pics of Eli in this blog. Scary. I like our sunset pic taken when Chris visited us and we stopped by the beach. It looks like an "ah" moment from the movies.

Yesss. It takes this much peanut oil to fry a couple of turkeys!
James and I were on the hunt for them on Thanksgiving day 'cause we under estimated how much grease it would take to fry the turkeys we had. And, we only found a bottle of peanut oil after checking four different grocery stores. Then, Ballz goes to ONE place and finds the motherload! Life is unfair, I know.

Turkey frying! Oil was splattering all over the place. Can you say coronary waiting to happen??? Yumsies! Those are Cheese's feet in the background. I dunno what she's doing.

And lastly, since Cheesey posted what she was thankful for in her blog, I'm going to steal the idea and list what I'm thankful for:

1. Family who flies me back to California every holiday season. Besides they're the bestest!
2. Friends. I only hang out with beautiful people because I can be beautiful by association. Call me superficial whateva.
3. Being in medical school, even though all I do is study.
4. Ballzee's purse collection
5. Make-up, coats, blue jeans, and my magic mic.

Peas Four Gimme

Please forgive me for the lack of posts lately. There hasn't been very many things that I can post to the public. Sadness. But, I'm back at home again. YAY! The weather is nice...not too hot and not too cold. And, the sun shines everyday :) It makes me happy. Here's a quick update of the things I've done lately:

On Friday, November 18th I got home at around 7:30 p.m. and family & I ate dinner at the Santa Rosalia Robel's house and we watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was gooood. You people should watch it if you haven't seen it. But, I felt like the movie was rushing through the story & there wasn't enough character development. Maybe they should've gone for three hours of the movie like LOTR did. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is still a better movie, but I as a book, my fave is the Goblet of Fire.

On Saturday was TJ's wedding. She was soooo gorgeous! Her dress was very vintage classic. And her bridesmaids all had different gown styles, but same color --- dusty rose. It was a real cute and simple wedding. And, she cried while saying her vows. Aw. I never expected TJ to cry. But, TJ if you're reading this, you never cease to surprise me! You were my going out buddy in college. I thought we were on the same boat, but now you're off to another one. I don't even know if I'm on a freakin' boat right now. Hehe.

Anyways, also on Saturday, my cousin Christopher surprised us and came over our side of the country. 'Twas fun just hanging out and doing nothing. We ate Chinese food with him on Sunday AFTER I ate a full meal of pizza and pie! I love pie! I was totally experiencing food coma around the afternoon, but woke up when the cousins said they wanted to go to the beach. It was fun taking pictures. I'll post them when I get back to Illinois.

Monday, my friend Beverlie & I got sushi! MMmmmmmMmm. Suuuushi. I heart sushi. And, then we got some books at Barnes & Noble. That's all I'm going to say. Knowledge is POWER!

I don't remember what I did on Tuesday. I think I was just bumming it. Oh, I took Lola (Grandma) to the doctor and they did some neuro tests on her sciatic nerve. It was cool I thought. I'm a nerd like that, I know.

And, my boring life brings us to now..Wednesday. All I did today was eat In n' Out burgers with Hannah (Mownz). I'm going to see another movie tonight. Maybe Harry Potter again??? But, RENT and Pride & Prejudice is out too. I'd love to see RENT, but I don't know if it'll be as good as the musical. And, as for Pride & Prejudice, I dunno about that movie without Colin Firth (the original Mr. Darcy). They totally mis-casted Lizzie...she's suppose to be plain not real pretty like Keira Knightly. Sigh. People get it right! I still wanna see it though.

Toothache

Ok, I lied. I said I wouldn't post, but my tooth hurts sooo badly. I thought it was my inferior alveolar nerve, but it's my left posterior superior alveolar nerve. At least I know my nerves are working. I can't eat :( and this is a big problem because I love food. I NEED drugs!

Crunch Time

I won't be posting anything for a few days because finals is next week :( I have to study, but I can't concentrate because my inferior alveolar nerve is bugging the crap out of me. If only I had someone to study with---I mean just someone studying in front of me. Anyways, I'll be back home in California on November 18th for a week! YAY! Friends, Family, I'll see you guys then! And, we can watch Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire :) Happiness!

Grown up & Almost Done with the 20s

Well, okay I don't know about grown up, but almost I guess. Five minutes to go before my day is over. All in all, it was a good day. The twenty or so messages I had in my phone was more than enough to make me feel loved. Aaaaw. (Although none of them were kinky. I should be thankful "Loquacious the Stalker" stopped calling me).

Quick & dirrty review of what I did: I skipped OMM lab table training because the freshmen have a practical today. Anatomy lab went well even though I can feel the stress people are in. And, dinner with friends at PF Chang's was the BEST! Birfdae greetings in between we really nice too, heh compared to last year when I completely forgot it was my birfdae.

Today is the start of a new year! Well, for me at least. Thanks again friends & family :)

Thanks Friends & Family

Friends..Family..Thanks for the wishes! If you call me tonight, I'm out with some friends for dinner and stuff. And, just a note: I accept late gifts anytime! Flowers and chocolate truffles are always welcome or a kinky message on my phone will also suffice :) Hehehe. Just kidding. Loveya guys!

Count Down (Hey Chris read this)

Yay! It's about a week and a half until I get to go home! And then, Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire is showing about the same time too! Woohoo! Simple pleasures. Yeah, I know I'm lame, but ya know when you study all day, little things are the greatest.

Anyways, so I was skimming through Chris' site and he said that he was disappointed with the blogger ppl because they don't post enough entries about their life and stuff (Nov. 4th entry)...so here goes Chris..this is for you! Welcome to my life:

I wake up. Go to the gym for about an hour. Shower. Eat. Class. Study. Blog. And, then the whole thing starts over again. Unless it's an exciting day when I replace "study" with dinner. So, sad.

The Frog that Wore a Wig

There's this random question on my profile that said something like "The children are waiting! Tell them a story about the frog that wore a wig." It doesn't fit in the profile box, so here is my cheesey story:

In a distant land a pond sits safely under the shade of a gigantic weeping willow. Not far from the spot lives a handsome young man named Echo, whose voice springs life and a heavenly night. Echo had invented music. His talent was a gift bestowed upon him by the gods as a payment for taking his parents to the celestial heavens the day he was born. The gods worried that Echo would never experience love and gave him one gift. They said, “To you we give the voices of sirens sweet, embracing every heart you meet.” The gods had hoped that one day their gift would find him true love. As granted, the ladies swooned every time he sang. One day, a royal carriage visited his pond, and dropped off a royal invitation. “The Royal Family requests your presence to sing at the royal ball,” the invitation read. Echo accepted the invitation with great anticipation. To sing before the royal family! He thought, what an honor!

The night of his performance, Echo caught a glimpse of the beautiful princess, Halcyone, the daughter of Sartorious the King, and Celia the Queen. Halcyone’s hair was black as ebony. Her deep black eyes penetrated Echo’s heart which fluttered between illusion and reality, giving him pain that both caused him longing and mysterious enchantment. Echo sought Halcyone’s beauty. He met her alone in the garden after his performance in secret for it was forbidden for a commoner to speak to the princess. “Meet me beyond the hill and across the prairie,” he said. “There you’ll find a pond and a weeping willow. I’ll wait for you there all night.” With that, he took her hand to his lips, gently kissed it, and walked away.

The next night, the gods put up the stars. Echo waited for Halcyone in the quiet moonlight next to the silvery pond. Every night in secret, the two lovers met. Everyday, they waited impatiently for the sun to go down beneath the waters and the night to rise up from them. One night Sartorious the King became suspicious of Halcyone’s nightly trips. He followed her to the lovers’ accustomed meeting place and became enraged with anger. No commoner deserves the love of his daughter the princess, he thought. Sartorious the King sought to punish Echo. The following night, he went to the lovers’ pond before Halcyone arrived and faced Echo. “You do not deserve my daughter’s love!” he said forcefully. "You are not of royal blood!" And before, Echo could say anything, Sartorious the King, who possessed magical powers chanted a powerful spell. “Eleka nahmen ah tum ah tum eleka nahmen,” he said. “Let his voice croak! Let him never speak to my daughter again! Let him never be seen by Halcyone! Let him never experience her love! Let him live the rest of his mortal life in this pond! LET HIM SUFFER FOREVER!!!" And, with that Echo transformed into a bald frog.

Halcyone met Echo that night seeking for her lover beneath the beams of the dim and melancholy night. But, Echo was no where to be found. A frog croaked in the distance, but Halcyone didn’t even notice. She fled, trembling and weeping wondering what she did that made Echo abandon her. The next full moon and every night thereafter Halcyone arrived at the lake alone. Halcyone was once again disappointed. She spoke to the stars hoping Echo would hear, “What have I done to deserve this? Echo where are you?” All the creatures slept and not a breath stirred the waters, and all was still except for one lone frog who croaked…

Echo sat on the ground close to Halcyone, and said, “I am right here. If you only look hard enough…I’m right here every night.” He hopped close to Halcyone and stole a snippet of her ebony hair and kept it as his wig.

Years passed and Halcyone had given up meeting Echo next to the silvery pond. Yet, every night Echo lived his curse in grief, waiting for Halcyone, hanging on to her black locks. The gods looked upon him with pity, but they could not reverse the mortal king's choice. For mortals in this world are always granted a choice whether right or wrong.

Drama for yo' Momma

Oh my goodness! There's so much drama these days. Intense drama that I can't even post up. And, it's not even so much about me, but other people surrounding me. Yikes. I just hope this all stops some time soon. Although, for some people it might completely turn around their lives. All I can do is *sigh* and pray. Here comes the mushy part that I don't really do normally being the sarcastic, non-confrontal, non-mushy person that I am...but a friend sent this to me and I think it's appropriate during these days for my friends & family:

May you have peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that you are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing that you are a child of God.
Let his presence settle in your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, & love.

Boredom

You can tell I'm bored when I do these things...

1. Name someone with the same birthday as you: I don’t really know. You guys can google this one and tell me.

2. Where was your first kiss? I think you guys can figure this one out too.

3. Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property? No never. Toilet papering houses when I was in high school was all I did.

4. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex? Nope.

5. Have you ever sung in front of a large number of people? Hello?!!! Am I Filipino or not?! Of course I have.

6. What's the first thing you notice about the opposite sex? Their face. Then their eyes. Teeth. Hair. Then I check out their arms.

7.What really turns you on? Attractiveness. Niceness. Intelligence. Humor. Flowers and chocolate truffles for no reason wouldn’t hurt either.

8. What do you order at Starbucks? Toffee Nut Lattee.

9. What is your biggest mistake? I don’t have regrets.

10. Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose? Nope. I’m too much of a wimp to hurt myself.

11. Say something totally random about yourself. I use to write with a ruler in middle school.

12. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity? I wish.

13. Do you still watch kiddy movies or T.V. shows? Not really.

14. Did you have braces? Yes, the end of middle school until junior year high school.

15. Are you comfortable with your height? Sure. I can wear heels and not be taller than boys.

16. What is the most romantic thing someone of the opposite sex has done for you? Hrm..a toughie. Call me. It’s much better when I tell you.

17. When do you know its love? I don’t.

18. Do you speak any other languages? Tagalog. And a little bit of conversational Spanish?

19. Have you ever been to a tanning salon? Nope. I can stand in the sun for 5 minutes and be tanned.

20.What magazines do you read? The ones that tell me what the trends are.

21. Have you ever ridden in a limo? Yes. Twice.

22. Has anyone you were really close to passed away? Yes. I have a big family.

23. Do you watch MTV? All the time. Sadness.

24. What's something that really annoys you? See my profile on the side.

25. What's something you really like? Singing. Shopping. Drawing. Talking to people. Eating and sleeping.

26. Do you like Michael Jackson? Gotta love his old school songs.

27. Can you dance? I can move..if you call that dancing.

28. What's the latest you have ever stayed up? A day and a half without sleep.

29. Have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room? Nope. Thank goodness.

30. Do you actually read these when other people fill them out? Yeah! I love these things. Apparently you do too. If you're reading this sentence.

The Cheese

Happy Birthday Cheesey!!!
We are soo Scorpios:
Scorpio individuals are enigmatic, strong-willed, and passionate. People born under this sign are considered to be dynamic and extreme in their opinions. Scorpios need a positive avenue of expression in career, love, and creative achievement or their feelings turn inward, imprisoned, and at times even destructive. The positive aspect of Scorpio is their unswerving dedication once their emotions are engaged. The Scorpio energy, drive, and endurance are legend. Above all, the Scorpio seeks to give life a meaningful pattern, to find a deeper purpose. Controversially, Scorpios are ruthless enemies, they never forgive an injury and will wait years to get even. Scorpio is a fierce competitor, though often they manage to conceal this from others. Scorpios file away pieces of information, facts, names and don't hesitate to use what they know if the occasion arises. Astrologers forget to emphasize how loving, generous, kind, loyal, even the gentle quality of a Scorpio. A Scorpio never forgets a kind gesture and tries to repay it handsomely.
Being so gifted, they can find fulfillment in many employments. Their inner intensity can result in the ice-cold self-control and detachment of the surgeon, the concentration of the research scientist, and the heroism of the soldier. Any profession in which analysis, investigation, research, dealing with practicalities, and the solving of mysteries are relevant, can appeal to them. So police and detective work, espionage and counterespionage, the law, physics or psychology may attract them, and they can become masters of the written and spoken word. They may be most persuasive orators and find fulfillment as diplomats or preachers and, if they make the Church their profession, their inner intensity can express itself in the spiritual fervor of the mystic or the thaumaturgy.
The Scorpio lover, the nature of this sign is more complicated. The typical Scorpio is interested in marriage and long-term commitment. To Scorpio, love is an intensely passionate and enduring emotion that may be directed at one person only. Love is central to the life of typical Scorpios and inspires many of their ambitions and actions. It is true those Scorpio men and women have strong sexual appetites and require a deep physical attraction towards their lover. Suspicious and wary, Scorpios are reluctant to trust their heart to anyone. But once they do, they love deeply. With a Scorpio, it is usually all or nothing at all. Scorpios are passionate in love, and passionate about everything in which they become involve.
The Scorpio friend, as a rule only has a few friends and expects loyalty from them. Scorpio is not a natural socializer, but will keep close friends for many years. Scorpios are loners who look to themselves to solve problems. It is often said that a Scorpio wants to know everyone's secret but never willingly divulges his or her own. Scorpio natives have a great wisdom and are often sought as life guides.

Phone I Miss You

Man. This is the first day in my life that I lost my phone. I had this great idea to sit outside 'cause the sun was out today. Well..kind of. It was windy. Anyway, I was finishing this drawing I had. And, I thought I could look cool in my boots & skirt while sketching and looking like I had no care in the world and no exams to study for. I left my phone out on the lil' picnic table, so I can tell what time it is because it makes me feel safe to know what time it is. Then, I called Nader to see if he wanted to do lunch. (Note to family: Nader is married. And he is not "Loquacious the Stalker") And, when Nader picked me up, I packed my stuff up real quick. And, *sigh* I left my phone. I went back to see if it's back there. And it's been phone-napped. It's probably been harassed by now. I love my phone. It's the only thing that gives me a chance to talk to people. Just sadness all around right now. Maybe it's because the sun went away and now it's overcast. Maybe I'm just pmsing. But, phone, I miss you.
